Roles & Responsibilities

• Triage and assess patients presenting to urgent care with a calm, focused approach
• Provide direct nursing care including medication administration and wound management
• Collaborate with providers and the care team to develop efficient treatment plans
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient education clearly and timely
• Perform point-of-care testing and basic procedures (e.g., IV starts, splinting, wound care)
• Educate patients and families on discharge instructions and follow-up care
• Respond rapidly to emergencies and assist in stabilizing and transferring patients as needed

Qualifications

• Current, active RN license in California or eligibility to obtain one quickly
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Advanced certifications (ACLS, PALS) preferred where applicable
• Prior urgent care or ED nursing experience preferred; new grads with strong clinical skills considered
• Strong assessment, prioritization, and communication skills
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced urgent care setting

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required or
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Clinical assessment and triage for a wide range of urgent care presentations
• Wound care, splinting, and basic procedural skills
• IV insertion and medication administration competency
• EKG rhythm recognition and basic interpretation
• Comfortable with electronic medical records and clear clinical documentation
• Patient education and discharge planning to promote safe transitions of care
