Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, evidence-based critical care to adult ICU patients
• Monitor hemodynamics, ventilators, and other advanced support systems and respond promptly to changes
• Administer medications safely and manage complex infusion therapies
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and the multidisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes
• Document patient status, interventions, and changes clearly and timely in the medical record
• Participate in unit-based competency testing and skills checklists to maintain clinical excellence
• Float to acute floors as needed to support the broader patient care team

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Iowa licensure required or able to obtain)
• BLS and ACLS required
• TNCC and NIHSS required
• Successful completion of Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing and Trinity Skills Checklist
• License/certificate verification required prior to start
• Ability to pass Fit Test, Trinity 10-panel drug screen, and required immunizations/health screening

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong critical care assessment and clinical judgment
• Experience with ventilator management and hemodynamic monitoring
• Proficiency in telemetry and interpreting acute changes
• Comfort managing complex medication regimens and infusions
• Excellent communication with patients, families, and the care team
• Adaptability to float to acute floors and work varied clinical environments
