Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide advanced respiratory care and ventilator management for adult, NICU and pediatric patients
• Operate and manage equipment including GE R860, Draeger infant/peds vents, Newport HT70 transport vent, V60 non-invasive device, Vapotherm, and Comfort Flow high flow oxygen
• Deliver hands-on patient assessment, airway management, and breathing support in critical care settings
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently in Cerner EMR
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
• Respond to emergencies and participate in codes and rapid response situations as needed
• Educate patients and families about respiratory care plans and device use

Qualifications

• North Carolina Respiratory License (required)
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) — required
• BLS, ACLS, PALS — required
• NRP — preferred
• Minimum 2+ years of clinical respiratory therapy experience (critical care experience preferred)
• Comfort with floating to all critical care units and adapting to varying unit workflows

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in ventilator management and advanced respiratory care
• Hands-on experience with GE R860, Draeger infant/peds vents, Newport HT70, V60 non-invasive device
• Familiarity with Vapotherm and Comfort Flow high flow oxygen therapy
• Proficient documentation and workflow in Cerner EMR
• Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and emergency response skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities in high-acuity settings
