Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate nursing care to pediatric med/surg patients
• Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions accurately and timely
• Administer medications and treatments safely following facility policies
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care
• Educate patients and families about care plans and post-discharge needs
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
• Support a positive and professional environment for patients, families, and colleagues

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse license (ability to hold MO licensure or appropriate multistate compact license)
• Current BLS certification required; PALS or pediatric certifications preferred
• Experience in med/surg and pediatric patient populations preferred
• Comfort and stamina for 12.5-hour shifts and the ability to work rotating schedules
• Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and teamwork orientation

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid pediatric assessment and med/surg nursing skills
• Competence in medication administration and documentation best practices
• Familiarity with electronic medical record systems and accurate charting
• Ability to prioritize, multitask, and respond to changing patient needs
• Excellent interpersonal skills for working with families and care teams
