Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality respiratory care and therapies to patients across the unit
• Manage ventilators and perform ventilator checks, adjustments and documentation
• Deliver aerosolized treatments, airway management and oxygen therapy safely and compassionately
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians and interdisciplinary team members to develop patient-focused care plans
• Perform patient assessments, monitor progress and escalate changes in clinical status promptly
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and adhere to facility policies and infection control standards

Qualifications

• Current Respiratory Therapist licensure in the state of Louisiana (or eligibility to obtain it)
• Credentialed as CRT or RRT is preferred
• Clinical experience in acute care settings is highly valued
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred where applicable
• Strong communication skills and ability to work well on a collaborative care team

Education

• Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy or completed accredited respiratory care program; Bachelor’s degree preferred where applicable

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency with ventilator management and respiratory care equipment
• Sound clinical assessment skills and familiarity with respiratory protocols
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple patients safely in a fast-paced setting
• Comfortable with electronic medical records and accurate documentation
• Team-oriented mindset and commitment to patient-centered care
