Shift Type: Rotating 12.5-hour shifts (examples: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM or 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM); actual schedule varies by unit and may include day and night rotations

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $47 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care for patients in the Step-Down Unit (SDU)
Perform thorough patient assessments and monitor clinical status throughout the shift
Administer medications and treatments safely and in accordance with facility protocols
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and update individualized care plans
Document patient care, assessments, and interventions accurately in the medical record
Educate patients and families about condition, care plan, and discharge instructions
Participate in unit-based quality improvement and patient safety initiatives

Qualifications

Registered Nurse (RN) — SDU experience preferred
Comfortable working 12.5-hour shifts and participating in rotating schedules
Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams

Knowledge & Skills

Step-Down Unit patient care and monitoring
Strong patient assessment and observation skills
Effective communication with patients, families, and care teams
Time management and prioritization during busy 12.5-hour shifts
Basic familiarity with electronic medical record documentation
