Candidate Pay Rate: $47 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Assess and monitor patients in the Step-Down Unit, detecting changes in condition early
Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately, following protocols
Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members to deliver coordinated care
Provide focused critical care nursing, including telemetry monitoring and advanced observations
Document patient status, interventions and outcomes clearly in the electronic health record
Educate patients and families about care plans, discharge needs, and follow-up

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license — Louisiana license or compact license preferred
Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred
Experience caring for Step-Down/SDU or telemetry patients preferred
Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking and patient prioritization skills
Current immunizations and compliance with facility onboarding requirements

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Telemetry monitoring and interpretation
Post-operative and acute care assessment
IV medication administration and infusion pump use
Effective interdisciplinary communication and handoff skills
Proficient documentation in an electronic health record (EHR)
