Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide excellent outpatient clinical care: assess patients, perform point-of-care testing, collect specimens, and document care accurately
• Support providers and clinic staff to ensure smooth clinic flow and high-quality patient experiences
• Maintain medication inventory and clinic supplies, ensuring readiness and safety
• Oversee opening and closing duties for provider clinics and ensure clinic operations run efficiently
• Perform and document quality control checks for point-of-care testing and follow infection control protocols
• Lead and mentor clinic staff when needed, offering direction to front desk and patient care teams
• Identify and report equipment issues or safety hazards and escalate unresolved concerns to management

Qualifications

• Current, full and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in Alaska or another U.S. state required (Direct hire must have applied for Alaska license before start; agency staff must hold active Alaska license)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification - American Heart Association
• Clinical Competency assessment (SEARHC) within 3 months of hire
• High Risk Competency (SEARHC) within 3 months of hire and annual thereafter
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• 1 year of acute care experience preferred
• Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs and perform frequent standing/walking

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Registered Nursing license required (Alaska or other U.S. state)

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid understanding of the nursing process and patient assessment
• Strong documentation skills and EHR/computer use
• Infection control and safety principles
• Point-of-care testing and quality control procedures
• Medication inventory management and specimen collection
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and customer service skills
• Critical thinking, problem solving, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinic
