Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients in the PICU
• Assess patient condition, interpret monitoring data, and intervene promptly to stabilize patients
• Administer medications, infusions and advanced therapies per orders and protocols
• Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary team members—physicians, respiratory therapists, pharmacists and families
• Document assessments, interventions and patient responses accurately and timely
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement and safety initiatives to improve patient outcomes
• Educate and support patients’ families during critical care episodes with compassion and clarity

Qualifications

• Current and valid California Registered Nurse (RN) license
• BLS required; PALS strongly preferred or required by facility
• Experience working in a Pediatric ICU or acute pediatric critical care setting preferred
• Demonstrated ability to manage ventilators, vasoactive infusions and advanced monitoring
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking and communication skills
• Ability to pass facility onboarding and orientation requirements

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in pediatric critical care principles and PICU best practices
• Proficiency with patient monitoring systems and pediatric ventilator management
• Medication administration and titration for pediatric critical care patients
• Excellent teamwork, communication and family-centered care skills
• Familiarity with infection control, ICU protocols and documentation standards
