Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, family-centered critical care for pediatric patients in the PICU
• Assess, monitor, and respond to changes in patient condition using sound clinical judgment
• Administer medications, treatments, and advanced life support interventions as needed
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to develop and execute individualized care plans
• Educate and support families during stressful and emotional moments with compassion
• Document patient care accurately and promptly to maintain continuity and safety
• Participate in unit orientation and training to maintain a high standard of care

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license in California (or compact license where applicable)
• Clinical experience or strong interest in Pediatric Intensive Care (PICU)
• Current BLS certification required; PALS certification strongly preferred
• Comfort with critical care monitoring, ventilator support, and pediatric dosing principles
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Able to complete required orientation prior to unit assignment

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• BSN preferred where available

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid understanding of pediatric critical care practices and protocols
• Skilled in patient assessment, hemodynamic monitoring, and emergency response
• Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
• Strong family-centered care approach and effective family education skills
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and accurate documentation practices
• Teamwork mindset with dedication to safety and continuous improvement
