Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered care for hemodynamically stable or predictably unstable medical-surgical and progressive care patients.
• Assess patients continuously and implement nursing interventions to prevent deterioration and promote recovery.
• Operate and manage advanced medical equipment including multiple IV pumps, arterial/central lines, chest tubes, and ventilatory support devices.
• Perform cardiac telemetry monitoring and interpret EKGs to guide timely clinical actions.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams — physicians, charge nurses, therapists, and support staff — to coordinate seamless patient care from admission to discharge.
• Serve as a clinical leader at the bedside, assist with precepting new staff, and provide direction to RNs, LPNs, CNAs, and support personnel.
• Deliver thorough discharge planning and patient education to support safe transitions home.
• Document patient care accurately and follow established policies and procedures with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• Current Montana RN licensure (required).
• Degree from an accredited nursing program.
• Practice experience in an advanced medical/surgical unit and recent Critical Care or Progressive Care experience required.
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required or obtainable within 6 months of hire.
• EPNC and TNCC certifications preferred.
• Comfortable with ventilator management (invasive and noninvasive), central and arterial line care, chest tube management, and IV pump management.

• Degree from a Nursing Program (required).
