Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality perioperative nursing care to surgical patients
• Prepare and maintain a sterile operating room environment throughout cases
• Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and OR staff for seamless patient care
• Assess and monitor patients pre-, intra-, and post-operatively and document findings clearly
• Advocate for patient safety and comfort while following institutional protocols
• Assist with surgical instrumentation, counts, and equipment setup and troubleshooting
• Participate in handoffs and interdisciplinary communication to ensure continuity of care

Qualifications

• Active RN license eligible for practice in Missouri (ability to obtain state privileges as required)
• Minimum 2 years of Operating Room (OR) nursing experience (explicit requirement)
• Comfortable with 12-hour day shifts and a 13-week travel assignment
• Current basic life support (BLS) certification or ability to obtain prior to start (typical expectation for OR roles)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong perioperative nursing skills and familiarity with sterile technique
• Ability to anticipate surgical team needs and assist efficiently during procedures
• Competence with OR documentation and surgical counts
• Excellent communication and teamwork in a fast-paced surgical environment
• Patient assessment and monitoring skills specific to perioperative care
• Adaptability to different surgical specialties and case volumes
