Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality perioperative nursing care to patients in the operating room under the supervision of the Unit Director
• Perform patient care functions in accordance with the State of Maine Board of Nursing and St. Joseph Hospital policies
• Collaborate with the surgical team and Clinical Leader/Charge Nurse to ensure safe, efficient care during your shift
• Maintain sterile technique and adhere to infection control and safety protocols
• Assess patient status, document care accurately, and communicate changes to the care team
• Support patient and family education and provide compassionate, patient-centered care
• Contribute to unit quality improvement and uphold the organization's core values of compassion, integrity, collaboration, and excellence

Qualifications

• Current Maine RN license (required)
• BLS required (bring current certification)
• ACLS required within 30 days of hire
• Fully vaccinated for COVID-19 per state mandate
• Telemetry experience preferred
• Bachelor's Degree preferred
• Must be a team player with strong communication skills, able to multi-task and work flexible hours

• Operating Room nursing and perioperative care practices
• Patient assessment and clinical decision-making
• Infection control, sterile technique and patient safety
• Effective communication and teamwork in fast-paced environments
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple patients/procedures
• Familiarity with hospital policies, documentation standards, and electronic medical records
