Candidate Pay Rate: $43 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, high-quality medical-surgical nursing care to adult patients
Perform thorough patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
Collaborate closely with the interdisciplinary care team to coordinate patient care
Document patient status and care interventions clearly and timely
Educate patients and families about condition, treatment plans, and discharge needs
Respond effectively to patient changes and escalate concerns appropriately

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Alabama (or compact RN license where applicable)
Experience in Medical-Surgical (Med/Surg) nursing — confident clinical judgment on med/surg units
Current BLS certification; ACLS preferred or willing to obtain
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a busy hospital environment
Strong communication and documentation skills

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Clinical assessment and monitoring of med/surg patients
Medication administration and IV therapy knowledge
Familiarity with electronic health record documentation
Ability to prioritize care and manage multiple patients safely
Patient and family education skills with a compassionate approach
