Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess, triage and stabilize emergency patients with urgency and compassion
• Deliver evidence-based nursing interventions and monitor patient responses
• Collaborate closely with physicians, techs, and the care team to coordinate rapid treatment plans
• Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients and families during stressful moments
• Accurately document patient status, treatments and hand-offs in the medical record
• Contribute to a culture of safety by adhering to protocols and reporting concerns proactively
• Mentor and support peers and new team members to strengthen unit performance

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse license (ability to hold/obtain Hawaii licensure or meet compact/state requirements)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) required; ACLS and PALS preferred or encouraged
• Experience or strong interest in Emergency Department (ED/ER) nursing
• Demonstrated critical thinking, strong assessment skills, and ability to perform under pressure
• Ability to communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and with patients/families

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN/ASN) required; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Triage and rapid assessment in high-acuity settings
• Emergency nursing workflows, trauma response and stabilization techniques
• Medication administration, IV therapy and advanced patient monitoring
• Strong clinical judgment, prioritization and time management
• Clear, concise documentation and hand-off communication skills
