Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate critical care to adult ICU patients
• Assess, monitor and interpret patient data to anticipate and respond to changes
• Administer medications, manage lines and support ventilator care when needed
• Collaborate closely with the interdisciplinary team to develop and execute care plans
• Document assessments and interventions accurately in the patient record
• Educate patients and their families about diagnoses, treatments and discharge planning
• Prioritize patient safety by adhering to infection control and hospital protocols

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted RN license (Alabama license or compact RN may be acceptable)
• ICU experience required — demonstrated critical care skills and comfort with high-acuity patients
• BLS required; ACLS strongly preferred or must obtain upon hire
• Comfort with ventilator management, vasoactive drips and advanced monitoring
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively on a fast-paced team

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) — BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Critical care assessment and rapid clinical decision-making
• Ventilator management and hemodynamic monitoring
• Medication administration and titration for ICU therapies
• Effective team communication and handoff practices
• Basic computer skills and experience with electronic health records
