Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, respectful personal care to residents and patients
- Assist with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming)
- Measure and record vital signs accurately and report changes promptly
- Support safe mobility: transfers, positioning and fall prevention
- Document care and observations clearly and promptly in the chart
- Collaborate with the nursing team to implement individualized care plans
- Maintain infection control standards and a clean, safe environment
- Offer emotional support and companionship — brighten someone’s day
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification in Pennsylvania or eligible for state certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) preferred or willing to obtain
- Ability to pass background check and drug screen as required
- Up-to-date immunizations per facility policy (e.g., flu, TB screening)
- Strong communication skills, reliability, and a team-player attitude
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Completion of an accredited CNA training program and current CNA certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in providing direct patient care and ADL assistance
- Comfortable taking and reporting vital signs and basic observations
- Knowledge of infection prevention practices and safe patient handling
- Good documentation habits and basic familiarity with electronic charting
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work on a multidisciplinary team
- Time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs
