Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, high-quality emergency nursing care to patients of all ages
Triage and assess patient conditions promptly and communicate findings effectively
Initiate and manage evidence-based interventions and monitor patient responses
Collaborate with physicians, techs and interdisciplinary staff to coordinate care
Document assessments, interventions and outcomes clearly and accurately
Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments and follow-up care
Maintain readiness for trauma, code situations and high-acuity presentations

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse license in Hawaii or eligibility to obtain state licensure
Current BLS certification; ACLS and PALS preferred or willingness to obtain
Prior experience in emergency department nursing preferred
Strong critical thinking, prioritization and triage skills
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in high-acuity, fast-paced settings
Excellent communication skills and a patient-centered attitude

Education

Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)
BSN preferred but not required

Knowledge & Skills

Triage and emergency assessment best practices
Stabilization of acute and critical patients
IV therapy, medication administration and wound care competency
Ability to prioritize multiple patients and tasks under pressure
Teamwork, clear communication and documentation skills
