Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide strong, compassionate bedside care for progressive care unit patients
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and monitor changes in condition
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments safely and accurately
• Monitor telemetry and respond quickly to clinical changes
• Coordinate care and communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary team
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge plans
• Document care thoroughly and maintain accurate electronic health records
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and uphold patient safety standards

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (KY or Compact where applicable)
• Experience working in Progressive Care Unit (PCU) or step-down environment preferred
• Current BLS required; ACLS preferred
• Comfortable and experienced with overnight/overnight rotating shifts
• Strong critical thinking, clinical assessment, and communication skills

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and interpretation
• Comprehensive patient assessment and prioritization
• Medication administration and IV management
• Familiarity with electronic health record documentation
• Effective interdisciplinary communication and care coordination
• Patient and family education techniques
