Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate emergency nursing care to adult and pediatric patients
• Perform rapid patient assessments and prioritize care in a fast-paced ED environment
• Administer medications, treatments, and IV therapy safely and accurately
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement patient care plans
• Document patient status, interventions, and outcomes clearly and promptly in the medical record
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and follow-up care with clarity and empathy
• Participate in triage, patient flow optimization, and emergency response initiatives to keep the ED running smoothly

Qualifications

• Current RN license in Alabama (or ability to obtain prior to start)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS and PALS preferred or obtainable
• Emergency Department experience preferred; new grads with strong clinical skills may be considered
• Current CPR certification
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and prioritization skills
• Ability to pass required background checks and any facility onboarding requirements

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Triage and emergency nursing procedures
• Ability to manage high-acuity patients and rapid condition changes
• IV starts, medication administration, and wound care
• Effective communication with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
• Basic familiarity with electronic medical records and accurate charting
• Calm decision-making under pressure and excellent time management
