Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor critically ill patients, using clinical judgment to prioritize care
• Administer medications and IV therapies safely and accurately
• Operate and manage critical care equipment, including ventilators and hemodynamic monitors
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and the ICU team to deliver integrated care
• Respond promptly to emergencies and participate in life-saving interventions
• Document patient care clearly and timely in the electronic medical record
• Provide compassionate education and support to patients and their families during critical moments

Qualifications

• Current RN license in Alabama or eligibility to obtain state licensure quickly
• Experience working in an ICU setting or with critically ill patients
• BLS required; ACLS strongly preferred
• Comfortable working 12-hour day shifts and adapting to fast-paced critical care demands
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in interdisciplinary teams

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN/ASN or BSN)
• BSN preferred but all qualified RNs are encouraged to apply

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong cardiac and respiratory assessment skills
• Familiarity with ventilator management and vasoactive medication titration
• Ability to interpret hemodynamic data and respond to changes rapidly
• IV pump and infusion management expertise
• Skilled clinical documentation and time management
• Team-oriented mindset with strong situational awareness
