Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to a diverse patient population including adults and geriatrics with cardiac, neuro, ortho, oncology, renal, and surgical conditions
• Float across multiple facilities within Zone 1 (Colorado Springs area) as needed to support staffing gaps
• Titrate heparin drips and manage telemetry monitoring for acute patients
• Collaborate with charge nurses and interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe patient ratios (1:5-6 based on acuity)
• Adapt quickly to different unit environments including MS-Tele, PCU/Stepdown, and occasionally ICU holds
• Maintain accurate documentation and communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent Medical-Surgical/Telemetry experience required
• Active RN license in Colorado or compact state (NLC) accepted
• Must live 60 miles or more from the facilities to qualify as a traveler
• Flexibility to float throughout Zone 1 facilities as assigned
• Ability to work night shifts and weekends on a rotating schedule

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in MS-Tele, Heparin titration, and neuro nursing
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Experience with cardiac, neuro, oncology, bariatrics, ortho, and trauma patients preferred
• Strong critical thinking and adaptability in fast-paced float pool settings
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
