Location: Chicago, IL

End Date: 05-24-2026

Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Rotating shifts, 11:00 AM - 7:30 PM, including weekends and holidays; on-call one night every 2 weeks and one weekend every 6 weeks

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $28 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Assist in a busy OR department performing open heart, orthopedic, and multiple other surgeries
Prepare and maintain sterile fields and surgical instruments
Anticipate surgeon needs and ensure smooth procedure flow
Work collaboratively with the surgical team to deliver exceptional patient care
Participate in on-call rotations to support emergency cases
Utilize EPIC for accurate documentation and coordination

Qualifications

At least 2 years of OR experience in a busy surgical department
EPIC experience required
Current BLS certification
DCI/BVP certification
Willingness to take call and work rotating weekends and holidays
Strong teamwork and communication skills

Knowledge & Skills

Proficient in surgical scrub techniques and sterile processing
Experience with open heart, orthopedic, and general surgeries
EPIC charting proficiency
Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
Excellent problem-solving and adaptability
