Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts (6:30 AM - 7:00 PM and 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM), every other weekend required

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $64 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide intermediate care and step-down nursing for cardiac and vascular patients
Monitor and interpret telemetry strips, titrate critical drips such as amiodarone, nitro, nicardipine, epi, and cardizem
Collaborate with cardiologists, intensivists, and the care team to manage conditions like CHF, atrial fibrillation, and post-CVICU recovery
Support the thoracic program, EP lab, cath lab, and structural heart services
Float to same or lower acuity units as needed, ensuring continuity of care
Participate in open-book skills exam during orientation to demonstrate competency

Qualifications

Active and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license
At least 1 year of experience with this patient population (CVU/intermediate care)
Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications (required at submission)
Valid driver's license (must submit to confirm distance from facility)

Knowledge & Skills

Skilled in titrating cardiac drips and managing blood pressure medications
Proficient in telemetry monitoring and rhythm interpretation
Comfortable with BiPAP, CPAP, and nasal cannula oxygen delivery
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
Strong communication and teamwork skills
