Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM and 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM), rotating day/night schedule that covers all days of the week including every other weekend and every other holiday; team scheduling with possible self-scheduling; typical orientation is 3-4 12-hour shifts

Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver skilled, patient-centered nursing care for Med-Tele acute, observation and swingbed patients — including assessment and care for pneumonia, COPD, CHF, pancreatitis and GI bleed
• Perform and document IV starts, nasogastric tube management and Foley insertions with competency and compassion
• Monitor telemetry and interpret strips independently; manage patient monitoring using Mindray tele monitors
• Set up, troubleshoot and manage respiratory support including BiPAP, CPAP and High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC)
• Participate as an active member of the code team when needed and assist with emergency response
• Collaborate with the care team and CNA to deliver safe, efficient care and maintain accurate documentation in MEDITECH
• Float flexibly to Med/Tele/Obs/Swingbed areas to support patient needs and unit staffing

Qualifications

• Active RN license eligible for submission in the hiring state (license to submit required)
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience (medical/telemetry experience required)
• Proven ability to perform IV starts, telemetry monitoring, NG and Foley procedures
• Competency with BiPAP, CPAP and HFNC setup and troubleshooting
• Comfortable reading telemetry strips and working without tele/monitor tech support
• Willingness to float to Med/Tele/Obs/Swingbed and to work every other weekend/holiday as scheduled

Education

• Active RN license (state of practice)
• BSN not required for this role

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong telemetry strip interpretation and cardiac rhythm recognition
• Experience with Mindray tele monitors and patient monitoring systems
• Familiarity with MEDITECH electronic charting and documentation
• Respiratory equipment competency (BiPAP, CPAP, HFNC) and basic ventilator troubleshooting knowledge
• Excellent patient assessment, critical thinking and team communication skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced acute care environment and participate in code team activities
