Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality Med/Surg nursing care with a pediatric focus, delivering compassionate, patient-centered treatment
• Assess, monitor and document patient conditions accurately and promptly in the medical record
• Administer medications and treatments safely, following facility protocols and best practices
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists and multidisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments and discharge planning in a clear, empathetic way
• Participate actively in orientation and ongoing training to maintain clinical competence and safety standards
• Support a positive unit culture by mentoring colleagues and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in California or eligible for state licensure
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred
• Experience or strong clinical exposure in Med/Surg nursing and pediatric patient care
• Current immunizations and ability to complete required background and health screenings
• Strong communication, critical thinking and teamwork skills in a fast-paced clinical environment

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Med/Surg clinical protocols and pediatric care considerations
• Patient assessment and monitoring techniques
• Medication administration and IV therapy fundamentals
• Accurate charting and electronic medical record (EMR) proficiency
• Triage, prioritization and time management under variable workloads
• Collaborative teamwork, clear communication with families and interdisciplinary staff
