Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate nursing care to med-surg patients and prioritize patient safety
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and monitor patient responses
• Perform thorough patient assessments and communicate changes in condition promptly
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care
• Document patient care, interventions, and outcomes clearly and timely in the medical record
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge plans
• Respond effectively to patient emergencies and participate in code or rapid response situations

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana or eligibility for state licensure
• Clinical experience in Medical-Surgical nursing (experience on med-surg floor preferred)
• Current BLS certification; ACLS and other specialty certifications encouraged where applicable
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and time-management skills
• Ability to work collaboratively on a fast-paced inpatient unit and follow facility policies

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid understanding of med-surg patient care principles and best practices
• Medication administration and IV therapy skills
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and accurate charting
• Infection control, patient safety, and fall-prevention strategies
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and patient education abilities
