Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care on a Med/Surg unit
• Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions and responses to treatments
• Administer medications and treatments safely and according to protocols
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge plans
• Respond to changes in patient status promptly and escalate concerns as needed
• Contribute to a positive unit culture by mentoring peers and participating in quality improvement

Qualifications

• Current RN license valid in Louisiana
• Clinical experience or strong interest in Med/Surg nursing
• Current BLS; ACLS or specialty certifications encouraged or supported
• Strong assessment, communication, and critical thinking skills
• Ability to work rotating 12-hour shifts, including weekends and holidays

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of Med/Surg nursing principles and best practices
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and accurate documentation
• Ability to prioritize patient care in a fast-paced environment
• Skilled in medication administration, IV therapy, and patient assessments
• Team-oriented mindset with strong communication and collaboration skills
