Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, patient-centered Med/Surg nursing care to adults and older adults
Assess and monitor patient status, recognize changes, and escalate concerns promptly
Administer medications and treatments safely and in accordance with orders
Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses clearly in the medical record
Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care
Educate patients and families on diagnosis, treatments, discharge planning, and follow-up
Support unit quality improvement initiatives and help maintain a safe care environment

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) credential (state licensure as applicable)
Clinical experience in Medical-Surgical (Med/Surg) nursing
Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification; ACLS preferred where applicable
Strong assessment, critical thinking, and patient prioritization skills
Ability to work 12-hour shift blocks and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams

Knowledge & Skills

Solid Med/Surg clinical knowledge and patient assessment skills
Medication administration and IV/infusion familiarity
Proficient documentation skills and comfort with electronic health records
Patient safety, infection control, and basic wound care practices
Effective communication, teamwork, and time management
