Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care on a medical-surgical unit
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate individualized nursing care plans
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Monitor patient condition and intervene promptly for changes in status
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments and discharge planning
• Document patient care clearly, thoroughly and in a timely manner
• Promote a safe, compassionate and healing environment for all patients

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana or compact RN eligibility
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; ACLS and PALS a plus
• Experience in Med/Surg nursing preferred; comfort with 12.5-hour shifts
• Ability to pass required background check and health screenings
• Strong clinical judgment, communication and teamwork skills
• Commitment to patient-centered care and professional development

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of medical-surgical nursing practices and procedures
• Medication administration and IV therapy skills
• Proficient patient assessment and documentation skills
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple patients in a fast-paced setting
• Familiarity with electronic health records and clinical workflows
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
