Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: Rotating 12.5-hour shifts (start/end times vary; specific schedule to be confirmed), RN - MED/SURG

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $59 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care on the medical-surgical unit
Perform thorough assessments and develop individualized care plans
Administer medications, IV therapy, and treatments safely and accurately
Coordinate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure smooth patient transitions
Monitor patient progress, document changes, and escalate concerns promptly
Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge care plans
Contribute to unit-based quality improvement and patient safety initiatives

Qualifications

Active RN license in Hawaii or ability to obtain licensure prior to start
Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
Previous medical-surgical nursing experience preferred
Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
Ability to work 12.5-hour shifts and collaborate in a fast-paced setting

Education

Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN, diploma, or BSN)

Knowledge & Skills

Solid knowledge of med-surg nursing practices and patient assessment
Proficient in medication administration, IV management, and wound care
Familiarity with electronic health records and accurate clinical documentation
Strong teamwork, time management, and patient advocacy skills
Ability to prioritize tasks and respond calmly in urgent situations
