Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: 12.5-hour Med/Surg shift; specific start/end times and scheduled days to be confirmed with the facility

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $48 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care on the Med/Surg unit
Assess and document patient condition, interventions and responses in a clear and timely way
Administer medications and treatments safely and according to policy
Collaborate with physicians, therapists and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care
Perform timely shift handoffs and communicate changes in patient status
Educate patients and families about diagnoses, procedures and discharge plans
Ensure adherence to safety, infection control and regulatory standards

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Georgia
Clinical experience in Med/Surg nursing preferred
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS or other specialty certs a plus
Demonstrated ability to work 12.5-hour shifts and manage a dynamic patient load
Strong communication, critical thinking and teamwork skills

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Knowledge & Skills

Solid Med/Surg clinical judgment and patient assessment skills
IV therapy, medication administration and basic wound care
Accurate electronic medical record documentation and charting
Ability to prioritize tasks and respond effectively in urgent situations
Collaborative approach to working with multidisciplinary teams
