Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, patient-centered nursing care to medical-surgical patients during 12-hour shifts
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care based on best practices
• Administer medications and manage IV therapy safely and accurately
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in the EHR
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge plans
• Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and escalate concerns appropriately
• Support a positive unit culture by mentoring colleagues and contributing to quality improvement

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana required
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) preferred
• Previous medical-surgical nursing experience preferred
• Strong clinical judgment, attention to detail, and patient advocacy skills
• Ability to meet physical demands of the role including safe patient handling

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or nursing diploma required; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid patient assessment and clinical monitoring skills
• Medication administration and IV/infusion experience
• Proficient documentation in electronic health records
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Time management and prioritization in a fast-paced hospital setting
• Basic familiarity with telemetry and post-operative care concepts
