Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, patient-centered nursing care to adult medical-surgical patients
• Perform thorough assessments, monitor patient status, and communicate changes to the care team
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately following policies
• Coordinate and document patient care, collaborating with physicians, therapists, and support staff
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments and discharge planning
• Support quality improvement initiatives and adhere to infection control and safety standards
• Respond effectively to changes in patient condition, escalating concerns when necessary

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure; ability to obtain/maintain Louisiana RN license required
• Previous experience in medical-surgical nursing preferred
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required or obtained upon hire
• Strong clinical judgment, effective communication skills, and teamwork mindset
• Ability to work 12+ hour shifts and adapt to unit staffing needs

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of medical-surgical nursing practices and patient care standards
• Skilled in medication administration, IV therapy, and patient assessment
• Proficient documentation and clinical charting habits
• Comfortable working in fast-paced environments and prioritizing patient safety
• Collaborative approach to interdisciplinary care and patient advocacy
