Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate critical care to adult ICU patients
• Perform comprehensive assessments and implement individualized care plans
• Monitor and interpret hemodynamic and ventilator parameters to guide treatment
• Administer medications and titrate infusions safely and according to protocol
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care
• Document patient status, interventions, and responses accurately and promptly
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and discharge needs
• Participate in unit-based quality and safety initiatives to improve outcomes

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse licensure (recommended: Louisiana licensure or compact privileges)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or obtained upon hire
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred
• Prior ICU or critical care experience preferred
• Strong assessment, critical-thinking, and communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Ongoing professional development and specialty certification encouraged

Knowledge & Skills

• Foundational knowledge of critical care nursing and ICU practices
• Competence with ventilator basics and hemodynamic monitoring
• Medication administration and infusion pump management
• Excellent clinical documentation and patient handoff skills
• Teamwork, situational awareness, and calm decision-making under pressure
• Patient- and family-centered communication and education
