Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered critical care in the ICU with vigilance and compassion
• Assess, monitor and document patient status, responding promptly to changes
• Administer medications and treatments safely and according to orders and protocols
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Operate and troubleshoot critical care equipment, escalating issues when needed
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments and care plans with empathy
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement and safety initiatives to improve outcomes

Qualifications

• Current, valid RN license (Louisiana) required or compact RN licensure where applicable
• Active BLS certification required; ACLS highly preferred
• Previous ICU nursing experience (demonstrated comfort with critical care patient populations)
• Current, reliable clinical skills in assessment, critical thinking and emergency response
• Strong communication and teamwork skills; ability to collaborate in a fast-paced environment

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in critical care assessment and monitoring of complex patients
• Experience with ventilator management and hemodynamic support
• Medication administration and titration in an ICU setting
• Familiarity with electronic charting systems and accurate documentation
• Ability to prioritize, triage and make timely clinical decisions under pressure
