Candidate Pay Rate: $63 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Assess and triage patients quickly and effectively in the emergency room
Provide skilled nursing care including medication administration and wound care
Stabilize and monitor critically ill or injured patients using sound clinical judgement
Collaborate with physicians, techs and support staff to deliver timely care
Document patient care accurately and maintain clear, concise charts
Educate patients and families about care plans, follow-up and discharge instructions
Respond to emergencies with calm, decisive action and strong teamwork

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (California) or eligibility to obtain
Emergency department experience preferred
Current BLS required; ACLS and PALS preferred or willing to obtain
Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
Ability to work independently on per diem assignments and adapt quickly to new teams

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required or equivalent
BSN preferred where applicable

Knowledge & Skills

Triage and emergency nursing principles
Cardiac monitoring, IV therapy and medication administration
Acute care assessment and rapid decision-making
Proficient charting in electronic medical records
Effective communication with multidisciplinary teams and patient families
