Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate nursing care in the emergency department
• Triage patients quickly and accurately to prioritize urgent needs
• Administer medications, start IVs, and perform emergency procedures safely
• Collaborate with physicians, techs, and support staff to coordinate patient care
• Monitor patient status, document changes, and escalate concerns promptly
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and follow-up
• Maintain infection control standards and contribute to a safe clinical environment

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license — California license required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred or required per unit policy
• Previous emergency department experience preferred; per diem/new grads may be considered based on unit needs
• Strong assessment, prioritization, and critical thinking skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork in a fast-paced setting

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• BSN preferred but ADN holders with strong ER experience are encouraged to apply

Knowledge & Skills

• Triage principles and emergency nursing workflows
• Stabilization of critically ill or injured patients
• IV therapy, medication administration, and wound care
• Familiarity with electronic health records and accurate charting
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and make rapid clinical decisions
• Working knowledge of infection control and patient safety protocols
