Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and triage patients rapidly and accurately in the emergency setting
• Deliver independent, professional emergency nursing care across age groups
• Follow physician orders and hospital policies while advocating for patient needs
• Provide compassionate support to patients and families from diverse cultural backgrounds
• Perform clinical procedures and maintain clear, timely documentation
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including physicians, specialists and support staff
• Uphold standards of care and participate in ongoing quality and safety initiatives
• Maintain required competencies and certifications to ensure high-quality care

Qualifications

• Current RN license from any U.S. state (Arizona RN license not required)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association required
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) from the American Heart Association required
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from the American Heart Association required
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) required within one year of hire
• Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) required within one year of hire
• Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) required within one year of hire
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) to be completed within 6 months of hire
• Emergency Severity Index (ESI) Level 5 training to be completed within 3 months of hire
• Patient Sitter Competency training upon hire
• Ability to work flexible shifts including nights and weekends

Knowledge & Skills

• Emergency nursing and rapid patient assessment
• Independent clinical decision-making in urgent situations
• Triage using Emergency Severity Index (ESI)
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) application
• Trauma and pediatric emergency care principles
• Clear communication with multidisciplinary teams
• Documentation and adherence to standards of care and policies
• Cultural competence serving Navajo, Hopi and surrounding communities
