Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform timely and thorough patient assessments and triage using critical thinking to keep patients safe
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments following approved nursing techniques and state practice act
• Develop, initiate, and execute individualized patient plans of care in collaboration with physicians and interdisciplinary teams
• Document care accurately and promptly according to standards of care
• Participate in department performance improvement activities, shared governance, and peer review
• Provide clinical guidance to other units and contribute to the patient’s longitudinal plan of care
• Escalate safety concerns through the appropriate chain of command to protect patients and staff

Qualifications

• Active WI RN licensure required
• RN education verification required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
• NIHSS certification required
• TNCC or TNS required (one of these must be held)
• Prior Emergency Room nursing experience preferred
• Ability to work day shifts with weekend rotations and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams

• Medication administration and adherence to safety protocols
