Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and triage patients quickly and accurately in a fast-paced emergency setting
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and urgent treatments safely and efficiently
• Perform focused clinical interventions for acute and traumatic presentations
• Collaborate with physicians, techs, and ancillary staff to coordinate patient care
• Document patient status, interventions, and outcomes clearly in the medical record
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, discharge plans, and follow-up care
• Support unit flow by prioritizing care and communicating effectively during high-acuity periods

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Hawaii or Compact RN licensure as applicable
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) preferred or willing to obtain
• Prior Emergency Department/ER experience preferred; new grads with emergency training considered
• Current clinical skills in IV therapy, triage, and emergency assessments
• Strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Emergency triage and rapid assessment techniques
• Stabilization of acute and traumatic conditions
• Intravenous therapy, medication administration, and wound care
• Familiarity with common ED workflows and patient throughput strategies
• Ability to operate monitoring equipment and respond to alarms
• Clear documentation practices and effective interdisciplinary communication
