Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered emergency nursing care in a fast-paced ED environment
• Perform rapid assessments and triage to prioritize care for critically ill and injured patients
• Administer medications, IV therapy and emergency interventions safely and accurately
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers and interdisciplinary teams to deliver timely care
• Document assessments, treatments and patient responses clearly and professionally
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments and follow-up plans with compassion
• Participate in unit huddles and quality improvement efforts to enhance patient outcomes

Qualifications

• Current, active RN license (must be eligible to practice in North Carolina; compact license holders should verify state acceptance)
• Minimum 2+ years of experience in Emergency Department nursing (explicit requirement)
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS preferred or based on facility needs
• Comfortable with 12+ hour day shifts and the pace of emergency care
• Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking and ability to prioritize under pressure
• Effective communication skills and a collaborative mindset

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Emergency nursing and triage principles
• Rapid patient assessment and prioritization
• IV insertion, medication administration and acute care procedures
• Trauma and critical care familiarity
• Accurate clinical documentation and electronic health record use
• Teamwork, adaptability and strong situational awareness
