Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality emergency nursing care to a diverse, high-volume patient population
• Perform triage and rapid assessment to prioritize care and improve outcomes
• Monitor cardiac and vital signs, manage telemetry and respond to changes promptly
• Document patient care accurately in Cerner and maintain updated patient boards
• Manage patient ratios appropriately and collaborate with techs and unit clerks
• Provide compassionate patient experience using AIDET and maintain patient communication
• Coach teammates and provide real-time feedback to support a culture of continuous improvement
• Assist with procedures and care across all ED sections; remain flexible to unit needs

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the appropriate state (or compact privileges as applicable)
• Minimum 2 years nursing experience, with at least 1 year of ER experience
• Required certifications prior to start: ACLS and BLS; PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS required on hire; ENPC to be completed within 90 days
• Experience in Level 2 trauma centers, comprehensive stroke centers, or high-volume EDs (>100,000 visits) preferred
• Strong teamwork skills and demonstrated ability to coach and provide constructive feedback
• Comfortable working with Baxter pumps, GE monitors, and cardiac monitoring systems
• Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities

Education

• Active RN license required
• ADN or BSN in Nursing preferred (or equivalent nursing education)

Knowledge & Skills

• Triage and emergency nursing best practices
• Cardiac monitoring and telemetry interpretation
• Familiarity with Cerner documentation system
• Experience with Baxter infusion pumps and GE monitoring equipment
• Stroke assessment skills including NIHSS
• Patient experience techniques such as AIDET and clear patient communication
• Ability to manage variable patient ratios and behavioral hold situations
• Strong interpersonal skills, teamwork, and real-time coaching capability
