Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and triage patients quickly and accurately in the fast-paced ED environment
• Provide focused, high-quality nursing care for acute and emergent conditions
• Administer medications and treatments safely, following protocols
• Collaborate with physicians, techs and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care
• Document assessments, interventions and patient responses clearly in the EHR
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments and follow-up plans
• Advocate for patient needs and ensure a safe, compassionate care environment
• Respond effectively to emergencies and assist with resuscitation and trauma care as needed

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license — Louisiana licensure or applicable compact privileges preferred
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) strongly preferred or required for ED practice
• Prior Emergency Department experience is highly desirable
• Strong critical thinking, assessment and triage skills in acute care settings
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in ED triage, rapid assessment and acute care interventions
• Skilled with IV therapy, medication administration and wound care
• Comfortable with trauma protocols and emergency resuscitation workflows
• Familiarity with electronic health records and timely documentation
• Excellent communication, prioritization and crisis management skills
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and adapt to changing patient needs
