Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality emergency nursing care to patients in the ED
• Rapidly assess, triage, and prioritize patient needs in a fast-paced environment
• Administer medications, treatments, and interventions safely and accurately
• Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary care team to optimize patient outcomes
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and responses clearly and timely
• Participate in emergency response protocols and assist during critical events
• Support and mentor colleagues, contributing to a positive and professional team culture
• Communicate with patients and families to provide education, updates, and emotional support

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license — Louisiana or compact license recommended
• BLS (Basic Life Support) required; ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) preferred
• Emergency Department nursing experience preferred (demonstrated triage and acute care skills)
• Comfortable working 12-hour shifts in a busy ED setting
• Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and excellent communication skills
• Current CPR certification

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Nursing Diploma required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Triage and rapid patient assessment in emergency settings
• IV therapy, medication administration, and critical care basics
• Familiarity with emergency protocols and code response procedures
• Proficient documentation and charting practices
• Strong teamwork, time management, and the ability to prioritize under pressure
• Patient- and family-centered communication skills
