Roles & Responsibilities

Provide expert perioperative nursing care for patients undergoing open heart procedures in the CVOR
Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and the perioperative team to ensure safe, efficient surgical care
Maintain sterile technique and uphold OR safety and infection control standards
Respond to Open Heart call and cover mid shifts as required to support the team and patient needs
Accurately document patient care and contribute to quality improvement initiatives and the Clinical Ladder advancement process

Qualifications

Current RN licensure required
Minimum 3 years of Operating Room experience required
Cardiac Open-Heart/CVOR experience required
BSN preferred; candidates committing to obtain a BSN within three years of hire will be considered
Ability to work primarily day shifts with flexibility for mid shifts and on-call duties

Education

BSN preferred; commitment to obtain BSN within 3 years considered

Knowledge & Skills

Strong Operating Room and CVOR clinical skills
Hands-on experience with open heart surgical procedures
Perioperative patient assessment and intraoperative monitoring
Expertise in sterile technique and OR safety protocols
Excellent communication, teamwork, and adaptability in high-acuity settings
