Roles & Responsibilities

Provide direct, high-quality patient care from admission through discharge for medical-surgical and critically ill patients
Operate and manage advanced medical equipment including ventilators, arterial and central lines, chest tubes, and multiple IV pumps
Assess patients and implement established policies and procedures with minimal supervision
Serve as a clinical leader: mentor and precept staff, and provide direction to RNs, LPNs, CNAs and support staff
Collaborate with providers, charge nurses, supervisors, and the Chief Nursing Officer to coordinate patient care and escalate concerns
Participate in discharge planning to ensure safe transitions and excellent patient outcomes

Qualifications

Current Montana RN licensure (required)
BLS and ACLS required
PALS, EPNC, TNCC preferred
Practice in an advanced medical/surgical unit with recent critical care nursing experience (required)
Demonstrated ability to lead clinically and precept other staff

Education

Degree from an accredited Nursing Program (RN)

Knowledge & Skills

Advanced patient monitoring and advanced nursing principles
Ventilator management and ventilatory support care
Central and invasive line care including arterial (A-line) and central line management
Experience managing multiple IV pumps and chest tubes
Strong assessment skills and the ability to follow and apply clinical policies
Clinical leadership, discharge planning, and care coordination
