Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare procedure rooms and equipment to ensure safe, efficient care for every patient
• Review patient charts, verify labs and consents, and communicate abnormalities to the physician or NP
• Provide thorough pre- and post-procedural assessments and monitoring, communicating abnormal findings immediately
• Circulate during diagnostic and interventional procedures and assist physicians with catheterizations, EP studies, device implants, structural heart procedures, EVAR, and neuro-interventional cases
• Administer procedural sedation per unit policy and monitor patient response
• Document care and procedures in real time using MacLab/CardioLab and electronic health records
• Participate in Time Out/Full Stop processes to promote procedural safety
• Maintain a therapeutic, safe environment and advocate for patient comfort and privacy
• Precept and mentor new staff and contribute to ongoing unit education

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required
• Experience in Cath Lab, ICU, CVICU, or IMC preferred; new grads and med/surg-only nurses are not being considered
• Proven ability to circulate independently during cardiovascular and EP procedures
• Proficiency with fluoroscopy, hemodynamics, and procedural sedation
• Comfortable documenting in MacLab/CardioLab and performing real-time electronic documentation
• Willingness to participate in on-call rotation and variable shift schedules
• Preferred: specialty certification in cardiovascular/EP nursing

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred
• Associate degree or Nursing Diploma accepted if BSN is obtained within 36 months of hire

Knowledge & Skills

• In-depth knowledge of cardiovascular and electrophysiology procedures and equipment
• Skill with hemodynamic monitoring and patient preparation for complex interventions
• Experience with 3D mapping systems and intra-cardiac ultrasound is a plus
• Familiarity with device implants (pacemaker, ICD), TAVR, LAAO, EVAR, and neuro-interventional procedures
• Strong critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills in high-acuity procedural settings
• Accurate, timely documentation and procedural logging in MacLab/CardioLab
