Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform radiologic and CT imaging exams accurately and compassionately to support diagnosis and treatment
• Position patients for optimal imaging results while ensuring comfort and safety
• Operate and monitor imaging equipment, performing routine maintenance and escalating issues promptly
• Produce consistently high-quality diagnostic images and maintain image quality assurance
• Follow all federal, state and hospital regulations to ensure compliant Diagnostic Imaging services
• Respond quickly and efficiently in emergency situations and equipment breakdowns
• Document procedures, maintain patient records and protect patient confidentiality
• Assist with phone coverage and patient scheduling to keep the department running smoothly
• Participate in CQI monitoring and contribute to department improvement efforts
• Share call and work schedule equitably and adapt to changing staffing needs

Qualifications

• Current California Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT) licensure — required
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification — required
• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registration — preferred
• Graduate of an accredited Radiology program with an Associate of Science degree
• Experience working in at least two imaging modalities
• Two years of acute care experience preferred (freestanding diagnostic imaging facility experience may substitute)
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts and participate in shared evening/weekend call
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to work with minimal supervision

Education

• Associate of Science in Radiologic Technology (graduate of an accredited radiology program)

Knowledge & Skills

• Radiologic imaging principles and patient positioning
• Computed Tomography (CT) operation and image acquisition
• Image quality assurance and equipment operation/maintenance
• Regulatory compliance with California State Board and federal rules
• Emergency response and safe patient transfer techniques
• Documentation, scheduling and maintaining accurate records
• Experience across multiple modalities and CQI monitoring
• Ability to provide age-appropriate care and use appropriate shielding/contrast adjustments
