Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic radiographic examinations with care and precision
• Position patients and operate imaging equipment safely and effectively
• Ensure image quality and immediately notify radiologists of any issues
• Adhere to radiation safety protocols to protect patients and staff
• Document procedures, maintain accurate records, and update patient charts
• Collaborate with radiologists, technologists, and clinical teams for optimal patient care
• Assist with routine equipment checks and report maintenance needs
• Provide compassionate patient education and support before, during, and after imaging

Qualifications

• ARRT certification or registry-eligible; commitment to obtaining credential if not yet certified
• Current Louisiana radiographer license or ability to obtain state licensure
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Previous radiology or imaging experience preferred; new grads who are credentialed are welcome to apply
• Strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and patient-centered attitude

Education

• Associate degree in Radiologic Technology or equivalent accredited program
• Certificate graduates from accredited radiography programs considered

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid understanding of radiographic positioning and anatomy
• Familiarity with PACS and digital imaging workflows
• Knowledge of radiation safety principles and best practices
• Ability to operate imaging equipment and troubleshoot basic issues
• Good interpersonal skills for working with diverse patients and clinical teams
• Strong documentation skills and comfort with electronic medical records
